Braving Michael's to Make a Wreath

My Farmhouse, Wreath, Thanksgiving, Fall

About 5 years ago I made two wreaths, one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. They are a little sad and have seen better days so I've been keeping my eyes open for some inspiration to get going on a new one. I think I've found it! I may brave Michael's soon and use a coupon I've been hanging on to. I have to go into that stupid store with a specific shopping list otherwise I get so overwhelmed that I just stare at all of the Martha Stewart crafting stuff, eyes glazed over, and walk out with nothing but a candle or something. It's sad really. On another note, we had some serious painting happening this weekend in the baby's nursery and I should have some progress photos up for you by tomorrow. My dad painted the crib a bright shade of green that I'm crazy for and my brother is slooooowly getting the room painted a crisp shade of white. Don't tell him I said that. He doesn't read my silly blog so it's just between us;) Until then.

  2. How exciting, can't wait to see what you come up with. I gave my mother my big wreath a few years back because I didn't think it went with my new more modern house - how silly. Perhaps after you finish yours, I'll get inspired to make another one.

  3. Looking forward to the nursery pics!!! And, I know what you mean about Michaels...hmm...I got a gift card from there so if you make a wreath maybe that'll be my inspiration to get myself over there and make one too!!

  4. Excited to see the nursery pics and I hear you about Michael's- spent an hour walking around there like a zombie today in search of finshing touches for my kids' Halloween costumes...that place is like IKEA- love it for the first 20 minutes and then just want out!

  6. I'm the same way in Michael's. I can even go in with a list and STILL leave without what I came for. I just read Tanya's comment and I agree. The employees are always so ill.

Anyway. Please show us what you make. I'm always floored at how much wreaths cost. Yet, I'm not brave enough to make my own.

  7. That wreath is gorgeous, but I am with you on the craft stores. I get so overwhelmed and I tell myself I am going to start all these really cool projects and eventually I am going to be a crafty designer with like 30 etsy stores and quit my job and make fun projects all day, but I think it's just the hot glue gun smell getting to me.

  8. Oh my word, you exactly described my reaction to Michaels. I can't go in there even with a list. It's just too much.
