Frieda and Nellie Friendship Bracelets

Frieda&NellieBraceletsCrop

In the 6th grade all my friends and I did was make friendship bracelets. We could could not hang with Frieda & Nellie's versions here. I love that the designers are actually best friends too. Not a better way to work in my opinion. These are pretty spendy and if you can't swing them than Material Therapy offers a more reasonable, allbeit, less grand version. Still super cute though. A good option for a friend's birthday or Christmas exchange I think.

Alexander McQueen for The Rug Company

alexander-mcqueen-humming-bird-dress

I like to play a game with myself sometimes while flipping through my design magazines. It's called the "if I could have anything on this page, what would it be" game. I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I will stare at a page debating with myself as if I actually get to take my pick. I recently played this game while looking at gorgeous rugs from The Rug Company. My standing favorite is the Peacock rug, which I have shown on this blog a number of times. It now has competition. The late Alexander McQueen lent his genius to The Rug Company and I'm sort of bonkers for the hummingbird pattern below. I have a weird thing for birds. They're so colorful and they can fly, which happens to also be my favorite super power. I feel like God was in a particularly good mood when he was thinking these little pretties up. He got out his watercolors and I guess McQueen did too.

Fashion to Home

Fashion to Home

If you haven't spent any time shopping on Etsy then you are missing out. Trust me. I love winter white and thought these two pieces would be beautiful in your closet and on a comfy lounge chair. Handmade and lovely in every way. I love neutrals done in fabulous textures and these are both made from felted wool and silk. Cozy and rich. Think Cameron Diaz's wardrobe from The Holiday!

Southwest Stylings

Southwest Concept
Art by Bern Hill, Dress by Hermes, Sandal by Ana Sui, Plate by Urban Outfitters

Ready or not- here it comes! Every time you think you have seen the end of a horrible moment in decorating (ie. coyotes, peach and turquoise color schemes, dream catchers and adobe pots that are 6 feet tall) it gets reinvented and beckons a second glance. Southwest themes are making a showing in fashion which means we're right around the corner from seeing the same in home decor. Turquoise is already here in a big way and Santa Fe motifs are popping up everywhere. I would normally deem this look as wretched but guess what? I like what I see here and I bet you do too. Admit it. You do.

You know you do.

Studying

photography by Marcelo Krasilcic

Morning people! I just want to let you know I'll be taking the week off to study for my NCIDQ practicum on Saturday. I'll be back full force next week and will let you know how it all went down. And yes, I will totally be wearing a silk romper, a smoky eye and my hair in a pouf while I study- how dare you think otherwise.

Valentine's Day Standbys

I don't know about you girlies but the following items do not happen enough for me to tire of them at Valentine's Day. Men, pay attention. These old standbys are still the favorites for most women and you CANNOT GO WRONG. Now, go forth and love!

Purty Dresses

I know this is random but have you ever met me? I am loving these gorgeous dresses, by I don't even know who, and I thought we should all just stare at these collectively for a few seconds. I am currently in my gym clothes with day old mascara but here's to dreaming of being more fabulous some day. And I mean that in the shallowest way possible. Happy Monday!

I'm Hungry for a Little Fashion

I want to look at some pink ruffles and aubergine lipstick today. Sometimes a little dose of fantasy is just what we need. Mmmm....look at that color scheme! Delicious.
